Step 1: One-on-One consultations

Connect with one of our business consultants to determine your export stag and needs. Get the help you need with your export strategy, market research, skills development, in-market support, government funding programs or any other questions you may have about going global.

Step 2: Expert on Demand

Our Access to Professional Program will connect you with a local exporting professional for a free 45-minute consultation. This program provides you access to a number of business professionals including lawyers, customs brokers, accountants, e-business experts and more.

Referrals

The Global Business Centre is part of an expansive network of government ministries, agencies and service providers providing export-related information, services and programs.

  • Innovation Centres
    Halton is home to several innovation centres. These centres provide valuable services and programs to help technology-focused businesses start and grow.
    • Haltech Regional Innovation Centre
      The Haltech Regional Innovation Centre (Haltech) is a Halton-based, provincially funded Regional Innovation Centre (RIC) organization. Haltech helps technology entrepreneurs and companies develop and transform their ideas and product innovations into well-positioned, growing ventures.
    • TechPlace
      Located in Burlington, TechPlace is dedicated to connecting, developing and advancing new and growing technology companies. TechPlace aims to help technology, talent and ideas come together under one roof to create and promote opportunities for economic growth.
    • The MEV Innovation Centre
      Located in Milton, The MEV Innovation Centre is dedicated to creating a place for innovation through collaboration and inspiration for entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses. Milton Economic Development, along with our partners at Haltech (external link), Halton Region, Wilfrid Laurier University (external link) and Conestoga College (external link), are here to provide wrap-around innovation support services and resources that enable our local entrepreneurial ecosystem to thrive.
  • Workshops and Seminars

  • Angel One
    Angel One Network Inc. is a member-based, not-for-profit organization of accredited investors who live, work or have strong interests in the areas of Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and other communities in Southern Ontario. Angel One provides members with opportunities to increase their exposure to quality pre-screened companies seeking capital and gives Angel investors the opportunity to expand their network of like-minded investors.

    The Canada Tariff Finder is a free tool that allows Canadian exporters to check the tariffs applicable to a specific good in a foreign market. The focus is on countries where Canada has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in place.

    The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service provides access to key market intelligence through various tools and resources that will help you succeed globally.

  • Market Reports by Industry Sector & Region/Country – The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service offers access to more than 200 free reports with analysis of specific industry sectors.
  • Industry Canada Trade Data Online (external link) – Industry Canada provides the ability to generate customized reports on Canada and U.S. trade in good with over 200 countries.
  • International Trade Centre Trade Map (external link) – Trade Map provides – in the form of tables, graphs and maps – indicators on export performance, international demand, alternative markets and competitive markets, as well as a directory of importing and exporting companies.
