Influenza (The Flu) Information for Pharmacies

This web page provides information and links to resources about influenza for pharmacies wishing to receive, store and have their pharmacist administer seasonal flu vaccine.

Pharmacies wishing to receive, store and have their pharmacists administer flu vaccine must complete an annual prequalification process set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in order to participate in the seasonal Universal Influenza Immunization Program (UIIP) (external link).

For more information on this process:

For pharmacies that have been approved by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (the ministry) to participate in the UIIP and to provide pharmacist-administered influenza immunizations the Implementation Package is available on the ministry's website.

Cold Chain Inspection:

Once the Ministry notifies the health unit that a pharmacy within its jurisdiction wishes to participate in the UIIP, the health unit will conduct a cold chain inspection of that pharmacy.
