Housing with Related Supports

Halton Region has service agreements with 3 Housing with Related Supports Housing Providers who provide residential care on a long-term basis, including board and lodging, to:

  • People who are living with severe and chronic mental illness and/or cognitive difficulties/impairments
  • Seniors who are frail and not eligible for Long-Term Care
  • People with developmental disabilities

These homes provide 24-hour supervision and supports to vulnerable adults who require some assistance with daily living activities.

Other Mental Health Supports

Assisted Living (Supportive Housing)

Halton Region offers an Assisted Living program which provides personal support by qualified staff, which can include, but is not limited to:

  • Personal care including showering
  • Dressing/undressing
  • Assistance with pre-measured medication
  • Reassurance
  • Safety checks

Those who qualify for personal care services may also be eligible for:

  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Assistance with meal services

Assisted Living is delivered on a frequent service basis averaging 1.5 hours daily. Clients are required to have a monthly emergency response system for staff to answer urgent requests for service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
