The following resources provide some excellent services and supports for Halton’s LGBTQ+ community.

Positive Space Network of Halton

This network is committed to education and training for Halton community organizations, the business community, medical professionals, educators and families.  The Positive Space Network:

  • tackles issues of homophobia, bi-phobia and trans-phobia through LGBTQ+ youth drop-in sessions held throughout Halton* 
  • seeks to change negative perceptions and attitudes toward the LGBTTTIQQAA populations through education, awareness and support programming for the broader Halton community
  • is dedicated to developing supervised and accountable youth support services.

No registration is required for drop-in sessions.  For locations and times:

PFLAG Canada (Parents, Friends and Families of Lesbians Gay, Bisexual and Trangender individuals)

PFLAG Canada is Canada's only national organization that helps all Canadians with issues of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. PFLAG Canada supports, educates and provides resources to all individuals with questions or concerns, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LGBT Youth Line

The Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line exists to provide service for youth by youth that affirms the experiences and aspirations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, 2-spirited, queer and questioning youth in Ontario. Working within an anti-oppression and anti-racist framework, they provide leadership opportunities, outreach, confidential peer support and referrals by telephone, texting and online.

Kids Help Phone

Kids Help Phone is a national and global leader in providing counselling and information services for young people.  They are available 24/7 across Canada. Trained, professional counsellors offer free and anonymous service supports to young people as they build the skills and abilities they’ll need to improve their emotional health and well-being.
