Community Supports for Sexual Assault/Violence

The community of Halton has had a long history of concern for survivors of both sexual assault and domestic violence. The Halton Sexual and Domestic Violence Collaborative, a committee consisting of community agencies assisted in the development of comprehensive response protocols so that all victims of sexual assault/ domestic violence would receive a consistent, knowledgeable and compassionate response from any agency in Halton.

    Women over the age of 16 are eligible for services. Priority is given to women who face multiple barriers (such as poverty, mobility issues, language, sexual or cultural affiliation, social isolation, homelessness, and stigma regarding psychiatric illness) in accessing comparable services.
