Description:

Regional Council approved the Master Plan for the Burlington Beach Regional Waterfront Park on May 20, 2015. Halton Region has received a Canada 150 grant that will help fund the park upgrades.

Starting in spring 2017, Halton Region and the City of Burlington will implement Phase 2 of the Burlington Beach Regional Waterfront Park Master Plan, which will include improvements along the waterfront promenade.

New and improved park features and amenities will include:

  • asphalt surfacing on promenade
  • new bollards (small, flexible posts to control traffic) on promenade
  • new shade structures at the cobble beach
  • concrete surfacing at seating areas and new benches
  • concrete surfacing of pathway at west end of the park
  • renewal of short concrete wall (parapet wall) between upper and lower promenade, and railings along west end of concrete wall

Schedule:

April to December 2017.

This work will be completed in phases during off-peak times, to accommodate annual major festivals and events.
