Metal & Appliance Collection


Metal and appliances are collected by appointment only.

This service is not offered in the Halton Hills collection areas 1 and 2.

Schedule Your Collection

  • Complete on-line form, or call Halton Region by dialing 311.
  • Give a description of the material to be collection. You will be given a date for when your material will be collected and a confirmation number.
  • On your metal and appliance scheduled collection day, place items at the curb by 7 a.m. and no sooner than 5 p.m. the evening before.

Metal & Appliance Tips

  • Your scheduled collection date may be 2 or 3 weeks from date of call.
  • You will be given a date for when your material will be collected and a confirmation number.
  • You must schedule metal and appliance collection before placing material out for pick-up.
  • On your metal and appliance scheduled collection day, place items at the curb by 7 a.m. and no sooner than 5 p.m. the evening before.
  • Remove all appliance doors and place at the curb safely.
  • Drain water from washing machines, dishwashers, etc.
  • Place tall appliances such as refrigerators and hot water tanks flat on the ground.

  • Bicycles (no tires)
  • De-humidifiers (drained)
  • Dishwashers (drained, door removed)
  • Dismantled swing sets
  • Dryers
  • Freezers (door removed)
  • Furnaces
  • Heat pumps
  • Hot water tanks (drained)
  • Metal bath tubs
  • Metal fences (dismantled, 1.2 m (4 ft) lengths maximum)
  • Metal furniture
  • Metal shower enclosures
  • Metal sinks
  • Metal water softeners (no water or salt)
  • Microwaves
  • Pool heaters
  • Refrigerators (doors removed)
  • Refrigerated water coolers
  • Stoves
  • Washers (drained)
