Investing in Healthy Minds @ Work Workshop Series

Halton Region is offering a new six-part workshop series on psychological health and safety starting in September 2017.

Sessions details

  • The workshop is free and all participants are required to attend 6 half-day sessions.
  • All workshops will take place at Dundurn Castle located at 610 York Blvd., Hamilton (external link).
  • You have the option to attend the morning session (8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.) or the afternoon session (1 – 4:30 p.m.)
  • Workshop dates:
    • 2017 - September 26, October 24, November 21, December 12
    • 2018 - January 23, February 20
  • Recommendation: 2 representatives from each workplace should attend the sessions.

Why attend?

Participants will receive practical knowledge on how to create a sustainable psychological health and safety action plan that is in accordance with the National Standard on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Studies have shown that workplaces with a positive approach to psychological health and safety demonstrate:

  • improved employee engagement;
  • stronger employee recruitment and retention;
  • enhanced productivity; and
  • increased innovation and creativity.

How to apply

Spaces are limited for this series and will be granted to workplaces following a brief application process.

  1. Download and complete the Expression of Interest Form (PDF file) . Submit your completed form to Julie.Datta@halton.ca before June 21, 2017.
  2. All organizations who submit an Expression of Interest will be contacted by July 12, 2017.

The workshop series is being offered free-of-charge thanks to a grant from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, in partnership with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) and City of Hamilton Public Health Services.
