Drinking Water Quality Management System Policy

Halton is committed to:

  • Maintaining and improving the Drinking Water Quality Management System

Operational Plan

Halton Region has developed and implemented a Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS).

The DWQMS is documented within the Halton Region Drinking Water Quality Management System Operational Plan and meets the requirements of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change’s Drinking Water Quality Management Standard, Version 2.

The DWQMS Operational Plan and Quality Policy was last endorsed by Council in October 2017, through Report No. PW-35-17.

Financial Plan

Ontario Regulation 453/07 of the Safe Drinking Water Act requires that all municipalities complete a financial plan for their respective drinking water systems. The Drinking Water System Financial Plan for Halton Region was developed to comply with the requirements of this regulation in accordance with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s Drinking Water Licensing Program.

Halton’s plan details the financial state of the Region’s drinking water systems based on a 10 year forecast. The Drinking Water System Financial Plan for Halton Region was last endorsed by Council on June 23, 2010.
