Age friendly communities  enable older persons to live safely, maintain their health and participate fully in their community.

During 2010, Halton Region’s Elder Services Advisory Committee held focus groups with Halton seniors to get input on topics related to age friendly communities such as driving and public transportation, housing, outdoor spaces, community involvement, employment and volunteering, services for seniors, recreation and social activities, and where and how seniors get information.

Age-Friendly Communities Forum: A Seniors' Perspective

On June 2, 2011, ESAC hosted a community forum to share the information collected from the seniors’ focus groups and gain feedback from Halton seniors and community stakeholders. View presentation 99KB.
