Regional Waterfront Parks Advisory Committee

The Regional Waterfront Parks Citizen Advisory Committee advises and assists the Region with respect to the development and management of the three Regional Waterfront Parks, being the Bronte Harbour, Burloak and Burlington Beach/Spencer Smith Waterfront Parks.

Specific activities include:

  • Assisting in the continuing development and management of the Waterfront Parks, including the updated of master plans and their implementation.
  • Bringing forward matters of interest with respect to the Waterfront Parks to the Committee for discussion.

Composition

The Committee includes:

  • 1 Regional Councillor from the Town of Oakville
  • 1 Regional Councillor from the City of Burlington
  • 1 Local Councillor from the Town of Oakville
  • 1 Local Councillor from the City of Burlington
  • 1 representative from The Marina Group
  • Between 5 and 8 members representing a cross-section of the community, merchant, business and resident interests (one of whom shall be a member of the Burlington Waterfront Committee)
  • 1 staff representative from the City of Burlington
  • 1 staff representative from the Town of Oakville
  • 1 staff representative of Conservation Halton
  • 1 representative of Halton Region’s Planning Services Division (Non-Voting)
