Lower Income Family Support

Halton Region provides a variety of supports for families and children who may be in financial need.

Oral Health

  • Healthy Smiles Ontario, 
    Is a dental health financial assistance program for eligible children and youth 17 years of age and under, from low income households (with or without) dental insurance coverage. Program coverage includes check-ups, cleaning, fillings and more.
  • Ontario Works Adults and Children
    • Children 17 years of age and under whose parents receive Ontario Works will be automatically enrolled in the Healthy Smiles Ontario program.
    • Ontario Works Adults who have a dental need may contact Halton Region by dialing 311 to find out more information.
    • Adults aged 65 and over and adults aged 64 and under who have an urgent dental need and who have a physical/mobility disability and need assistance with performing activities of daily living such as getting dressed, bathing or grooming.
