Study: Halton Region has completed an Active Transportation Master Plan Study to the year 2031 to develop the required strategy, infrastructure, initiatives and programs to promote non-motorized travel throughout the Region, as recommended in the Region’s Transportation Master Plan (2031) – The Road to Change. The Region’s objective is to create an Active Transportation Master Plan that is safe, affordable and sustainable.

ATMP in Action

A major component of the ATMP is improving bike lane infrastructure to make it easier and safer to choose cycling as a mode of transportation. Since the ATMP was implemented we have created more lanes, widened shoulders and created new multi-use paths. Stay tuned for more community improvements
