Bulk Water Rates & Payment Methods

New online pre-payment system

A new online pre-payment system and keypad terminal will replace Halton’s Smart Card payment and reader system, starting in late March 2018. To avoid disruption in service, set up an online account or call 311 for more information.

IMPORTANT:

The Nipissing Road coin-operated bulk water station will be permanently closed as of May 31, 2018.

Rates

The 2018 rate is $2.65 per cubic meter.

The rate is calculated based on a sample resident charge which includes:

  • Monthly water and wastewater service charges.
  • Usage charge per cubic meter (75% exemption for the wastewater component).

Bulk water rates reflect the Region's operating costs, water consumption history, and population/water demand growth projection.

The coin operated bulk water station rate is $2.00 per cubic meter. Please note: the coin operated station at Nipissing Road will close permanently as of May 31, 2018.

  • Plains Road Bulk Water Station
  • Guelph Line Bulk Water Station
  • Harrison Court Bulk Water Station
  • Todd Road Bulk Water Station
  • Lawson Road Bulk Water Station
  • Burnhamthorpe Road Bulk Water Station

Nipissing Road's coin operated bulk water station will be permanently closed as of May 31, 2018.

Smart Cards

The current Smart Cards may be re-loaded until the new online payment system and keypad terminals are in place in late March 2018. Any remaining money on Smart Cards in your possession can be reimbursed or transferred to your new online account by Halton staff at the Halton Regional Centre. All Smart Cards must be transferred to your new online account or cashed out by June 30, 2018.

If you require additional funds on a Smart Card between now and late March, we recommend adding funds to your existing card, or buying a pre-loaded card, rather than requesting a new card.
