Use the checklists below to help ensure your child’s first steps of school are as enjoyable as possible. Just click on each heading below for helpful information, tips, and resources. If, after going through these checklist's, you have any questions please email us or call us by dialing 311.

    Have you submitted your child’s immunization record to the Halton Region Health Department? Your doctor does not automatically submit it to the Health Department. Report your child’s immunization online.

    The influenza vaccine is recommended for children each year, beginning at six months of age.

    1 MMR & Varicella must be given after first birthday.
    2 Children born on or after January 1, 2000 and who are at least 1 year of age are eligible for two doses of varicella vaccine.
    3 All doses must be completed by 24 weeks of age

Unless there is a physical or developmental concern where your child needs extra assistance, your child will have an easier time in kindergarten if he/she can manage pulling down pants, wiping and washing independently. More information about 3-4 year olds learning to use the toilet.
