Low income residents (high school students, adults or seniors) in Halton can apply to Halton Region for help with the cost of public transit as part of a 12 month pilot project called Subsidized Passes for Low Income Transit (SPLIT).

  • There are limited passes available for the pilot.
  • SPLIT passes will be issued on a first come, first serve basis.
  • You must book an appointment for an in person meeting to determine if you are eligible for the program. (Dial 311 or 905-825-6000)
  • To apply you must have your most recent Notice of Assessment (from your taxes); if you are a student you must also have a valid student card; if you are a senior you must have proof of age to determine eligibility for the seniors fare.
  • SPLIT passes cover 50% or more of the cost of a monthly transit pass (bus) in Burlington, Milton or Oakville.
