Compliance with the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (O. Reg. 429-07) by January 1, 2012 - Will you be ready?

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) was passed by the Ontario legislature with the goal of creating standards to improve accessibility across the province. The AODA applies to both the broader public and private sectors.

The first standard to be enacted into law is the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (O. Reg. 429/07).  The deadline for compliance with the standard for the broader public sector was January 1, 2010.  Private sector entities must comply by January 1, 2012.
