2007 - 2010 Strategic Plan

On May 30, 2007 Regional Council approved the 2007-2010 Halton Region Strategic Plan. Each new term, Halton Regional Council develops a Strategic Plan to reflect Council’s vision and priorities through themes and goals. The vision and themes of the 2007-2010 Halton Region Strategic Plan are:

• Vision: Halton - Naturally the Best… A place that values natural heritage and diverse communities, while supporting a prosperous, sustainable future.
• Theme 1: Control and Manage Growth for Sustainable Communities
• Theme 2: Protect and Enhance our Natural Environment
• Theme 3: Create and Improve Safe, Healthy, Liveable, Inclusive Communities
• Theme 4: Promote and Strengthen Economic Growth and Prosperity
• Theme 5: Promote Cooperation and Partnerships among all Levels of Government
• Theme 6: Ensure Excellence in Government and Fiscal Responsibility

Standing Committee Plans

To support Council’s priorities, annual actions are developed to achieve the goals in the Strategic Plan. These actions are reflected in Halton’s Standing Committee Plans. Progress on the actions in the Standing Committee Plans is monitored and updates are provided to Regional Council on a semi-annual basis.
