Equipment
Note: Homeowners who have backwater valves installed , should refrain from using water inside the home during severe rainstorms since these flows may not be able to enter the sanitary sewer system if there is a surcharge (backup) of the sanitary sewer system. This could lead to water backing up into the basement. This is because the backwater valve will be closed during a surcharge condition.
The Mainline Fullport Backwater Valve is currently the only backwater valve approved in the Province of Ontario for home installation on the main sanitary sewer lateral. It comes with a clear cover which allows you to inspect the sewer drain's performance during heavy rainstorms.
