to participate in the Challenge.
The Live Outside the Box (LOTB) Challenge (previously known as TV Turn-off Week and Pause To Play) aims to create a level of awareness and self assessment by children, youth and their families about their physical activity time and sedentary behaviours. The basic concept? Limit the amount of sedentary behaviour, e.g. time spent in front of a TV, a computer, playing with electronic game devices, or sitting in a vehicle, and replace it with physical activity and active transportation. Please visit
http://activehealthykids.ca/ for the 2011 Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth and the Ontario Report Card Supplement
Teachers are encouraged to run the Challenge in their own classrooms more than once during the school year, or over a period of three weeks. Students should take the "Success Tracker" form home and chart their activity.
To discover if you would like to run the Challenge.
