The Four Point Plan

The Four Point Plan is designed to help parents deal with questions about sexuality that children may ask.

The Four-step approaches to any questions are:

  1. Facts - Your child deserves a factual answer. Don't let emotions affect your response.
  2. Values - If you don't share your values about sexuality with your child, they may adopt someone else's values or those they see on television.
  3. Responsibility - When answering your child’s questions about sexuality, be sure to let them know what you expect of them and what their responsibilities are.
  4. Self-Esteem - Answer your child's questions in a way that will make them feel good about themselves.
