Please note: Yard waste collection is for Urban Areas Only.

April 4 - December 8, 2016, yard waste is collected once every other week, on the same day as your garbage.  Find out your collection day.

Keep up your neighbourhood’s appearance and be respectful of your neighbours - on your scheduled yard waste collection day, place items at the curb by 7 a.m. and no sooner than 5 p.m. the evening before. Please refrain from putting yard waste at the curb more than one day prior to your scheduled collection day.

Yard Waste Collection Information

Yard waste labels are available at no charge. Order yard waste labels online or call Halton Region by dialing 311.  Yard waste labels must be placed on your reusable container to receive collection.

Only use paper yard waste bags or open, reusable, rigid containers labelled yard waste. If using a reusable, rigid container, you can drill holes in the bottom of the yard waste container for drainage. Please do not place a yard waste label on a Blue Box or GreenCart or use them for yard waste collection.

Containers may have a capacity up to 125 L (27 imperial gallons) and weigh no more than 23 kg (50 lbs). 

Yard waste in cardboard boxes, Blue Boxes, GreenCarts, plastic bags, compostable bags or biodegradable bags will not be collected.

Brush must be tied in bundles no larger than 2 m x 1 m (6 ft x 3 ft) wide, with branches a maximum of 7.5 cm (3 inches in diameter).
