New North Oakville Transportation Corridor Class EA Study AreaStatus: Completed

Study Level: Schedule C 

Purpose: To address east-west travel demands in the Town of Oakville through a new transportation corridor in the vicinity of Burnhamthorpe Road.

Scope:  Halton Region will examine a wide range of road improvement alternatives including road widening on the existing alignment, roadway construction on a new alignment, construction of a new structure across Sixteen Mile Creek, replacement/rehabilitation of existing watercourse crossings and intersection improvements. A key consideration will be a review of the existing need and justification of the roadway improvements identified in previous studies to reflect recent Provincial initiatives.

Study Recommendations:  Recommendations are listed in the Environmental Study Report - to be posted at a later date.

Tentative Timing:  This project is not scheduled within the 10-year Capital Forecast.
