Town of Milton Pan/Parapan American Games Velodrome

The purpose of this amendment is to permit the development of a cycling velodrome and related ancillary uses on approximately 4.24 hectares (10.5 acres) of land located on the west side of Tremaine Road, north of Britannia Road and south of Derry Road, in the Town of Milton.

Regional Official Plan Amendment (File No. RQ53A) was submitted to Halton Region in April 2012 and deemed complete in April 2012. It was circulated to a number of agencies for review and comment.

A draft amendment was presented at a Public Meeting on July 4, 2012, at 9:30am in the Council Chambers, Halton Regional Centre, 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville. The meeting was held to provide the public an opportunity to comment on the proposed Amendment.

On October 3, 2012, Regional Council adopted Regional Official Plan Amendment No. 41 (ROPA 41). A notice of adoption was issued on October 5, 2012. The last day of appeals to the OMB is October 25, 2012.



The property which is subject to this application is located in Part of Lots 8 and 9, Concession 7, former Township of Nelson, in the Town of Milton. The property is municipally known as 6400 Tremaine Road. The property is identified in the Location Map.

The applicant is the Town of Milton, who has been selected as the host community for the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games velodrome and related training facility and competitive events leading up to and following the Games. The proposed velodrome site includes a parking area and stormwater management facility for a total of 4.24 hectares. The proposed velodrome facility will also include ancillary recreational uses such as non-cycling related ancillary facilities including a 300m jogging track, multi-purpose sport floor, and a fitness centre.
