The Halton Region Museum is located in a picturesque setting beneath the Niagara Escarpment inside Kelso Conservation Park in Milton, Ontario, Canada on what was once part of a farmstead established by the Alexander family in 1836.
Today, visitors can explore indoor exhibits and outdoor trails which focus on Halton's history. In addition to a visit to the Museum, the Park offers many activities including picnicking, swimming, hiking and down-hill skiing & snowboarding in winter.

Open Year Round Monday - Friday 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Open Daily Victoria Day to Thanksgiving 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Exceptions:
- Closed Christmas Day - New Years Day (December 25 - January 1)
- Closed Good Friday

Free parking is available in front of the Visitor Centre or in the large lot behind the building.

Buses may drop off in front of the Visitor Centre, however they must park in the large lot.

Designated parking spots are located in front of the Visitor Centre and behind the Alexander Barn.

The main floor of the Visitor Centre is wheelchair accessible as is all three floors of the Alexander Barn.

Washrooms are conveniently located on the main and 2nd floors and are wheelchair accessible.

What is there to See and Do at the Museum?
On the main floor of the Visitor Centre you will find park maps, local tourism & special events information and exhibits. The Hitching Post Café and Gift Gallery offers the opportunity to relax with a snack and cold drink in the Café, and shop for that memorable souvenir or special gift in the Gallery.

Exhibits
Located in the Visitor Centre and Alexander Barn, the Museum hosts a variety of changing exhibitions on Halton's cultural & natural heritage. Be sure to visit the third floor of the Alexander Barn for a rare opportunity to look behind-the-scenes at museum collections storage and learn about museum activities.

Trails
Stroll throughout the Museum grounds and discover the historic features of the five-acre site by following The Alexander Trail or taking part in the Discovery Hun t.

The Alexander Trail Pick-up a trail guide in the visitor information display and follow the numbered icons. The Trail commemorates the
Alexander Family who lived on this land for over 125 years.

Discovery Hunt
Solving the mysteries presented on the Discovery Hunt is fun for the whole family. Pick up your hunt guide in the Visitor Centre and venture out on the site. Don't forget to turn your competed hunt in and collect your prize!

Group Visits
School and community groups can choose from hands-on heritage & environmental education programs.
Adult groups may participate in a program or guided tour and complete their visit with refreshments. Please call ahead to 905-875-2200 ext. 23 to arrange your special visit.

Research Services
The Reference Library and Archives is located on the 2 nd Floor of the Visitors Centre and are open to the public year round Monday - Friday by appointment.

Museum Office
The Museum Office is open year round Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Located upstairs in the Visitor Centre.
