  1. Hard Wired Connectivity Steps

    Troubleshoot Steps

    • Hearth Room
      The Hard wired connection is located on the bottom of the second post as you enter the Hearth Room, labelled D-007.
    • Loft Room
      The Hard wired connection is the black jack just below the Access Point
      in the Loft Room, labelled D-006
  2. WIRELESS Connectivity Steps

    • Step #1:
      Go into your wireless Network connection, click on Refresh network
      list and you should see the Halton_HQ_Guest Access Point. Select the
      Halton_HQ_Guest and click on the Connect button.

      Once connected you should see the Manual change to Connected.

    • Step # 2:
      Open up your browser such as Internet Explorer and you should
      be prompted with an authentication request. Type in the provided
      username and password and click on the Login button.

    • Step # 3:
      You will receive the following page, click on “Continue to this website”

      You will see the following:

      You should now be able to access the Internet.

    Troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check the Access Point and ensure that the middle LED light is
      a solid Green. The LED to the right should be flashing green when
      there is activity. If all the lights are amber than the unit is offline or
      rebooting. If they remain amber after a few minutes you’ll need to
      contact the Service Desk and log a trouble ticket.
       Access Point. Middle light should be a solid green when working correctly. Right light should be flashing green when there is wireless activity.
    2. Ensure that the wireless adapter is enabled on your notebook and
      that you can see the wireless AP (Access Point) SSID with the following
      name “Halton_HQ_Guest”
       
    3. If you are connected to the wireless, ensure that you have
      received a valid IP address i.e 192.168.1.xxx with a subnet mask of
      255.255.255.0
       
      To check your IP, perform the following – Go to START – Run – CMD –
      In the command prompt window type ipconfig /all
       
      You should see this under the wireless adapter connection:

    4. If the above is correct, check the proxy setting in your browser and
      ensure that it is not enabled.
       
      For Internet Explorer go to Tools –Internet Options – Connections –
      LAN Settings and uncheck the Proxy server setting if it’s checked.

      If you are still unable to connect after following all of the above
      instructions contact the Region’s Service Desk at extension 7074 to
      log a trouble call or ask your onsite service staff for assistance.
