The Halton Region School Tour Program was established to raise awareness of Halton Region’s programs, services and facilities to:

  • assist teachers in incorporating regional government activities into the grade five curriculum on municipal government;
  • to personalize regional government for school-aged children; and

The School Tour Program provides students with the opportunity to learn about:

  • The role of Regional Council
  • Halton’s role in emergency preparedness
  • Police Headquarters’, including the jail cells and the communications centre;
  • Halton Region’s Emergency Medical Services - the role of paramedics;
