Heritage Farms & Conservation Areas

There are several farms in Halton run by the government and not-for-profit agencies where visitors can have fun, discover, and learn.

Halton Regional Museum

Located inside Kelso Conservation Area in Milton ( view map External Link ), Halton Regional Museum sits on the historic site of the former Alexander Family Farm, and offers environmental and heritage education programs for school children, and indoor and outdoor exhibits focusing on Halton's history.

Bronte Creek Provincial Park

Spruce Lane Farmhouse at Bronte Creek Provincial Park ( view map External Link ) is a turn-of-the-century living history museum offering recreational activities including the Maple Syrup Festival. The park also features a children's play-barn, educational programs, and other family activities.

Country Heritage Park

An interactive heritage park that offers educational programs for school children, summer day camps, special events, tour group programs, historical interpretation, and a collection of antique tractors, steam engines, farm equipment, and rural life artifacts.

Conservation Halton Parks

Parks with farm activities include Mountsberg and Crawford Lake Conservation Areas, Mountsberg is the site of a 120 year-old farm house and children's play-barn. Crawford Lake is best know for its 15th century Iroquoian village, which brings to life farming practices of Ontario's First Peoples. Both parks have popular Maple Syrup programs in the spring.
