Entrance Permits

An Entrance Permit is required if you want to:

  • Build a new entrance to your property from a Regional Road.
  • Change the location of an existing entrance to your property from a Regional Road.

Application Procedure

  1. Submit a completed Entrance Permit Application Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)32KB.
  2. The Applicant must include 3 copies of a Site Plan showing the location of the proposed entrance, the Regional Road number, lot and concession number. Failure to supply a properly labelled plan will render the application void.
  3. The proposed entrance must be staked out in the field by the Applicant. The stakes are to be placed in an obvious location and must be coated with a bright flourescent paint. Failure to stake out the proposed entrance will render the application void.
  4. The Application will be forwarded to Halton Region's Transportation Department who will review and determine the appropriate fees. The Applicant is responsible to have the curb cut, the culvert installed, and to pay appropriate fees for deposits and inspections.
  5. Once the Application has been returned approved, you will be contacted by the Service Permits Group to make an appointment for you to come in to the Regional officies to pay for and create the Entrance Permit.

Application Fees

Application fees change annually.

  • Preliminary fees for your Permit: $5,759.60 ($5,306.00 of which is a refundable deposit)
    • NOTES: This is a preliminary fee only. The fee for your permit may differ from this amount. Do not include payment with your application.
  • Payment Options: Cash, Credit card, Debit card or Cheque (American Express and Visa Debit cards are not accepted)
    • NOTES: Please make cheques payable to "The Regional Municipality of Halton". Credit cards much be present at time of payment. We cannot accept Credit card payments over the phone.
