The Waste Management Calendar for Shopping Districts has reminders of simple things businesses can do with their waste materials to ensure their customers enjoy a clean and welcoming experience.

Holiday Reminder (Shopping District Collection Only)
Due to the following Monday holidays, your Tuesday garbage collection will take place one day
later:
- Family Day (Feb. 20) moves to Wed., Feb. 22
- Victoria Day (May 21) moves to Wed., May 23
- Civic Holiday (Aug. 6) moves to Wed., Aug. 8
- Labour Day (Sept. 3) moves to Wed., Sept. 5
- Thanksgiving (Oct. 8) moves to Wed., Oct. 10
Due to the following Tuesday holidays, your Tuesday garbage collection will take place one day earlier:
- Christmas (Dec. 25) moves to Mon., Dec. 24
- New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) moves to Mon., Dec. 31
On the Good Friday holiday (Fri., Apr. 6), your waste collection will take place one day later on Sat., Apr. 7.
There is no change to the schedule due to Easter Monday (Apr. 9), Canada Day (July 1), and Boxing Day (Dec. 26). Please consult your collection schedule for details.
Waste Diversion Workshops for Businesses
Waste Management Services offers workshops for businesses to promote waste diversion practices within their organizations.
During the workshop, waste reduction tactics including litterless lunches, recycling and reuse strategies will be discussed. Most businesses provide a waste diversion workshop to their employees as part of a "Lunch and Learn."
Waste diversion workshops are subject to availability, and should be arranged at least 1 month in advance.
