Economic Development

Halton Region provides its diverse and growing business community with a wide range of services and support including those focused on small business and entrepreneurship.

Halton Region Economic Development works closely with its partners including the four Halton Local Municipal economic development offices in investment marketing and attraction services and in creating and sustaining strategic business sectors. 

The services and programs delivered by Economic Development are established in the Halton Region Economic Development Strategy for 2012-2021. The Strategy establishes direction and guides decision making for economic development across the Region.

Economic Development services include:

  • Monitoring and reporting quarterly on Halton’s economic activity.
  • Providing annual benchmarking of Halton’s competitiveness as a business location.
  • Site Location Assistance.
  • Economic and Real Estate Data for companies looking to locate or expand in Halton.
  • Research and support to strategic economic sectors including Tourism.
  • Supporting innovation and workforce initiatives.
  • Providing assistance to existing Halton companies.
  • Facilitating recruitment and retention of family medicine physicians.
