A high level of education characterizes Halton's working age population. Among the surrounding municipalities in Southern Ontario, Halton with its high percentage of population with post-secondary training is recognized for its educational standards, curriculum and facilities.

Halton's economic diversity represents a cross section of key business and industry sectors. The top three industry sectors, manufacturing, trade and service industries account for 74% of Halton's labour force. All major occupational groups make up the labour pool. A partnership between Industry, Labour and Education provides for the development of a skilled workforce throughout the Region.
