Healthcare in Halton

All citizens and permanent residents are fully protected under Canada's universal healthcare system. Each of the region's four communities has a major hospital providing acute care services. The new 1.6 million-square-foot state-of-the-art Oakville Hospital offers a full range of health services, including maternal and childcare, critical care, emergency care, surgery, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, diagnostics, ambulatory care and a variety of support services. As well, the goal of the Region's active physician recruitment program is to ensure that every Halton resident has a family doctor.
