Halton region offers many courses throughout the year on a range of topics.

Baby & Parenting Programs

  • Prenatal classes
    Healthiest Babies Possible is a free prenatal education program that is offered to Halton residents.
  • Calling New Parents (Drop-In Support Group)
    Support Groups for Parents with Infants 
  • Parenting Support Program: Triple P
    Helps parents: Create a stable, supportive, happy family environment; Teach their children the skills they need to get along with others; Deal positively, consistently and decisively with problem behaviour; Encourage positive behaviour; Develop realistic expectations of their children and themselves; Take care of themselves as parents
  • Halton Prenatal Nutrition Program
    The Halton Prenatal Nutrition Program (HPNP) is designed for pregnant women needing extra support to improve both their health and baby’s health during pregnancy; and to have a baby of a healthy birth weight.

CPR Training

Halton EMS offers several options for community groups to learn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). For a group of twelve to twenty five people with access to a room appropriate for teaching, Halton EMS will deliver the following courses:

  • HeartSaver CPR
  • HeartSaver CPR for Older Adults
  • Basic Rescuer Level CPR
  • Infant Injury Prevention, First Aid and CPR
  • Lunch n’ Learn – The Chain of Survival and PAD in our Communities

Food Safety Education and Certification Program

The Food Safety Education and Certification Program is open to anyone interested in learning more about safe food handling practices.
