A Heat Alert is in effect starting Monday, August 30, 2010 
We all enjoy the hot days of summer, but care needs to be taken on days when the temperatures are extreme. It is important that each of us understands how we respond to high heat levels so we can take steps to protect our health.

School Immunization Program
Grade 7 and 8 school-based immunization programs start September 20. These immunizations are free and voluntary. An information package about these vaccines will be given to students at school. Please review the information with your son/daughter. If you want your child to receive these vaccines, complete the consent form and return it to the school.

Halton's Health Department is a designated Baby Friendly organization!
After an intensive accreditation process laid out by the Breastfeeding Committee for Canada (BCC) External Link, the Halton Region Health Department has achieved official Baby Friendly status. The designation includes the implementation of breastfeeding policies, training for all staff in promoting and protecting breastfeeding as the norm for baby and child feeding, and ensuring all new mothers and families are supported and accommodated regardless of their feeding choices.
