Moving and New Subdivisions
If you are moving out of a house, leave your GreenCart behind for the new home owners.
If you are moving into a new subdivision, Halton Region will provide you with one GreenCart and two Blue Boxes once the homes on the street or subdivision are substantially completed. Contact your builder to confirm they provide garbage collection until the Region can safely access your subdivision. Please do not pick-up a GreenCart, as the Region will be delivering one to you.
Broken GreenCarts
If you have a broken GreenCart or Kitchen Catcher, please return it to the Halton Waste Management Site (view map
) for a free exchange.
The broken GreenCart or Kitchen Catcher is required in order to coordinate our corporate warranty program with the manufacturer.
Additional GreenCarts
Most households only need one GreenCart, regardless of how large the family is. The Region encourages you to use the GreenCart for a full month. If after that month you feel your household needs a second GreenCart to accommodate your food waste and compostable papers, you can purchase one at:
