GreenCart Security

The GreenCart is designed to be pest resistant with a tight fitting lid and locking mechanism, making it much more secure than a regular garbage can or bag.

Helpful Hints

Always ensure the GreenCart lid is closed and locked.

If possible, store your GreenCart inside your garage. If storing your GreenCart outdoors, use a bungee cord to ensure the GreenCart cannot be tipped over. Or, use a wall-mounted hook to hang the GreenCart off the ground about one foot.

Put your GreenCart out at the curb every week, even if it is only partially full.

If using a certified compostable bag, ensure it is completely tucked into the Cart when placing the GreenCart out for collection. The liner's edges may be used by animals to pull the GreenCart over.
