Container Station & Landfill Fees
The Halton Waste Management Site (HWMS) not only accepts items that go into our landfill, but also diverts items from the landfill through the Container Station.
Customers are expected to sort their loads by material type. Please pre-sort your loads prior to delivery to the HWMS for quick and easy unloading.
If required, customers should arrange for additional assistance to help unload heavy material. Container Station attendants are not permitted to assist customers with the unloading of materials.
Remove all fluids (gas, oil, etc.) from gas powered equipment such as lawnmowers. Residential hazardous fluids may be dropped off free of charge at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot. Do not mix and ensure liquids are in tightly sealed containers and labeled to identify the contents.

Important Information
- All customers are to report to the Scalehouse upon arrival.
- Please secure all open loads with a tarp or rope.
- Customers are expected to sort their loads by material type.
- Please pre-sort loads prior to delivery to the HWMS for quick and easy unloading.
- Remove all fluids (gas, oil, etc.) from gas powered equipment such as lawnmowers.
- Oil drums and tanks must be empty and cut in half.
- Residential hazardous fluids may be dropped off free of charge at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
- Concrete/asphalt with rebar or wire mesh cannot be accepted for recycling. These items are accepted as garbage at the tipping fee of $143/tonne.
- If required, customers should arrange for additional assistance to help unload heavy material. Container Station attendants are not permitted to assist customers with the unloading of materials.
