Waste Management Services encourages businesses, schools, and members of the community to increase the amount of waste being diverted from landfill. 

In 2010-2011, Halton Region Waste Management Services delivered 166 waste diversion workshops to 21,671 people! The waste diversion education program has been recognized with a 2009 Conservation Award of Excellence from Conservation Halton, and a 2007 Gold Waste Minimization Award from Recycling Council of Ontario.
