Red Light Camera Program

Stop Sign

On average, there's one collision every week in Halton because someone ran a red light.

That’s unacceptable and preventable. To improve road safety and reduce the number of drivers running red lights, Halton Region is participating in the Red Light Camera Program.

Throughout southern Ontario, red light cameras have reduced personal-injury type accidents, helping to improve the safety of our intersections and enhancing the quality of life in our community.

Cameras snap photos of red light runners 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, but only operate when a vehicle enters the intersection once the light has turned red.
