Study Purpose
To address existing and short-term (1-5 years) operational needs along the Trafalgar Road corridor, from Steeles Avenue to Highway 7, in Halton Hills.
This study replaces the cancelled Environmental Assessment (EA) study for Trafalgar Road, from No. 10 Sideroad to Highway 7, which focused on long-term planning for this corridor. More information
Study Scope
The study will examine a number of road improvement alternatives including:
- Auxiliary lanes (left and right turn lanes).
- Signal upgrades and timing adjustments.
- Pavement rehabilitation.
- Improvements to signage and pavement markings.
- Improvements to traffic control.
Public Consultation
A key component to this study will be consultation with interested stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, interest groups and the public.
This study will include 2 public information centres (PICs). The PICs will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to meet the project team, understand the study scope and discuss issues related to the project.

In March 2009 Halton Region issued a "Notice of Study Cancellation" for the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for Trafalgar Road (from No. 10 Sideroad to Highway 7). The purpose of the Trafalgar Road EA study was to address future long-term transportation planning needs in this corrdor.
The Trafalgar Road EA was cancelled because several other planning studies had been initiated by Halton Region and other levels of government. These planning studies had the potential to impact or influence the study.
