Halton Region is responsible for water purification and distribution, and wastewater treatment and collection in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills. Halton consistently monitors the quality of drinking water quality to ensure it is safe when it reaches your home, school or business. Halton also treats the wastewater before safely discharging it back to receiving waters.

  • Outdoor Water Use Program
    The Outdoor Water Use Program monitors the Region's drinking water systems on a daily basis. If Halton's drinking water systems become stressed the Region can implement outdoor water use restrictions.

    Information about Halton's drinking water system, annual reports, backflow prevention, well water testing, source protection and more.
  • Halton Children's Water Festival (external link)

  • Bulk Water
    Halton operates 9 bulk water stations across the Region. A bulk water station is a location where commercial business and the general public can get large volumes of water.

    When a need for construction or reconstruction of water and wastewater infrastructure is identified an environmental assessment is conducted. 
  • Permits
    Halton Region's Services Permit staff is responsible for issuing many different permits. relating to water, sanitary sewer and Regional road activities.
