Background

  • The purpose of Regional Official Plan Amendment (ROPA) No. 46 is to prepare an amendment to the Regional Official Plan to include lot creation policies to sever Surplus Farm Dwellings in Prime Agricultural Areas.
  • The effect of the proposed Regional Official Plan Amendment is to permit the severance of dwellings deemed to be surplus to an agricultural operation as a result of farm consolidation in Prime Agricultural Area in Halton Region.
  • This ROPA will be applicable in all areas of Halton Region. Local municipal Official Plan Amendments will need to be undertaken to complete the introduction of these policies.
