Office of the Chief Administrative Officer
The CAO’s Office provides strategic leadership on the implementation of Regional Council’s directions and the overall administration of the corporation including :
- providing human resource services to the corporation,
- developing and delivering strategic communications programs, and
- providing front-line customer service through Halton’s award-winning call centre, Access Halton.
The CAO’s Office maintains strong relationships with other governments, and delivers varied and ongoing communications with stakeholders on Halton Region’s programs and services.
Corporate Services Department
Halton Region’s Corporate Services Department performs financial planning and internal support services for the corporation, including:
- budgeting
- purchasing
- accounting
- auditing
- technology
- project management and
- asset management
Health Department
The Health Department delivers a variety of public health programs and services for residents in Halton, including:
- working with communities to address local health-related issues
- working with various populations such as older adults, teens, and individuals with special needs
- confidential counseling and consultations
- information and educational resources
- parenting support
- support groups and clinics
- investigations and inspections
- referral services

Public Works Department
Halton Region’s Public Works (PW) Department provides critical and essential services that exceed our customers’ expectations. PW ensures high quality service delivery whether it is supplying residents with
- safe, clean drinking water
- treating sewage in state-of-the-art facilities
- constructing and maintaining regional roads for the safe travel of people and
- goods, waste and recycling collection, or protecting the environment.
Legislative and Planning Services
Halton Region’s Legislative and Planning Services Department provides legal support and advice to the corporation, and strategic direction on all forms of planning and policy initiatives, through:

The Department also provides Emergency Management to the Region, and supports Heritage Services and the Accessibility program.
Social and Community Services
The Social and Community Services Department provides programs and services that enhance the independence and quality of life of Halton residents. These include:

Social and Community Services works progressively and collaboratively with the community to provide residents with the social support services they need.
