Halton Community Housing Corporation

The Halton Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) provides rent-geared-to-income and market rental housing to families, seniors, couples, single people and people with special needs. HCHC owns and manages 1,816 units across Halton Region.

HATCH

The Halton Access to Community Housing (HATCH) system is a one-window access point for most social housing units in Halton. By completing the HATCH application the resident's name will go on the waiting list for each HATCH site chosen, if the resident is eligible for subsidy.

Rent Supplement

The Region administers a Rent Supplement Program which provides subsidy in over 400 units in privately owned buildings. Tenants for these units are selected from the Halton Access to Community Housing (HATCH) waiting list and pay the landlord rent based on their income. The Region pays the difference between the tenant’s portion and the full market rent for the unit.
