At Halton, we realize the importance of providing students work experience opportunities from which to develop knowledge and skills to assist them in achieving their career goals.

• The summer student employment period normally runs from May to the end of August / early September.
• The job posting for summer student employment is available online in January each year and is open to receive applications for 1 month.
• Only online applications will be considered. This applies to "returning students" as well.
• Please submit only 1 application.
• You must complete the online questionnaire in order for your application to be considered.
• Only candidates considered for a position will be contacted for an interview.
• Due to the expected high volume of applications, we are unable to provide 'status updates' about applications.

Eligibility

• Legally able to work in Canada as a student.
• Currently enrolled in full-time studies in a post-secondary program.
• Returning to school full-time in September.

Summer student positions are based on the needs of Regional departments. Therefore, there are various opportunities Region wide, but opportunities may be limited within a specific department.

• Screening of candidates will be based on the background information provided by the candidate and through completion of the online questionnaire.
