The resource has been developed according to the Ministry of Educations Foundations for a Healthy School framework.

  Resource that links to statistics, publications, prevention programs and general information related to alcohol use and abuse.
• CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health)
  Information on mental health and addictions, substance use prevention programs, and clinical services.
• Communities and Schools Promoting Health: Alcohol and Drug Use Prevention
  Lesson plans and classroom based learning activities on alcohol and drug use prevention (categorized by grade level) for teachers and those who support teachers. Lesson plans are consistent with the provincial curriculum guidelines.
• DARE(Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
  Drug abuse resistance education program for grade 6 students.
• Lung Association
  Resource for individuals, teachers and students about lung health and tobacco smoke.
• Lungs are for Life
  Interactive website providing information and online support for educators, parents and students in grades K-12. It is designed to complement the Lungs are for Life Smoking and Drug Prevention Program.
• Motive8 
  A substance abuse prevention program for grade 8 students in Halton Region (supporting the health and physical education curriculum).
• Ontario Pharmacists Association
  The Dino Game is a medication safety and healthy habits game for ages six - nine. Safe Meds for Kids presentation is an interactive program for kids ages four to ten.

  Resource providing programs, services and articles related to tobacco, substance use and mental health.

One-on-one mentoring and peer mentoring programs

• Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Halton
  Community service that provides mentoring programs for children in order to meet the emotional, physical and social needs of girls and boys in our community.
• Youth Aiding Youth
  A community based program whose goal is to match volunteers aged 16-24, on a one to one bases with younger children aged 6 to 10 to promote healthy growth and development.
