Britannia Road is a critical east-west corridor in Halton Region that motorists rely on to get to work, school, retail and home every day. To accommodate growth, provide safe alternative transit options and improve traffic flow, Halton Region is planning to make improvements to Britannia Road.
With construction starting in summer 2019, Britannia Road (from Tremaine Road to Highway 407) will be widened from 2 to 6 lanes and upgraded to include bike lanes, traffic signals and streetlights. The Britannia Road improvements will be completed in three phases:
- Phase 1 - Tremaine Road to Regional Road 25 (Project #2667): Starting summer 2019
- Phase 2 - James Snow Parkway to Highway 407 (Project #2668/2669): Starting fall 2019
- Phase 3 - Regional Road 25 to James Snow Parkway (Project #2670): Starting spring 2020
