Go global.

There are so many innovative and expanding businesses that are based right here in Halton. Our Global Business Centre (GBC) opened in February 2018 to help these local businesses navigate and succeed at the next level–the global marketplace.

Whether you are an experienced exporter, “born global” or newly interested and looking to learn more, the GBC is your connection to an expansive network of trusted advisors who can take the stress out of entering international markets. The GBC’s team of consultants are well equipped to provide one-on-one export counselling, market research, support in developing an export plan and much more.

A great place to work and do business

With the Region’s low taxes, access to major markets and excellent business support services, Halton remains a competitive home base to grow your business. Results from our 2018 Economic Review showed that Halton is maintaining a strong local economy, fueled by diverse and innovative industries and a highly educated workforce. The strength of our economy is also demonstrated by our low unemployment rate. At 5.3 per cent, we remain lower than the average unemployment rate for the Greater Toronto Area (6.1 per cent), Ontario (5.6 per cent) and Canada (5.9 per cent).
