Halton Self-Harm and Suicide
Self-harm is a serious public health issue in Halton Region and throughout Canada, particularly among adolescents and young adults. This report examines self-harm injuries between 2003 and 2013 requiring an emergency department visit and/or a hospitalization, as well as self-harm resulting in death (suicide). Comparisons are made between Halton Region and Ontario, and data is analyzed by trends over time, sex, age group, municipality, and neighbourhood income. (MOHLTC)
